Fisheries and livestock adviser Farida Akhter on Saturday said that the previous government鈥檚 financial irregularities in livestock sector would be investigated to ensure accountability and justice.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Institute of Livestock Science and Technology in Sylhet鈥檚 Tilaghar, she said that misappropriation of funds and incomplete projects would be thoroughly investigated, according to a press release.


Highlighting the devastating impact of floods in Sylhet on both humans and animals, Farida announced plans for special animal shelters in flood-prone areas.聽

She also hinted about the interim government鈥檚 plan for distributing animal feed alongside relief for human during disaster.

Additional secretaries ATM Mustafa Kamal and Md Tofazzal Hossain, livestock department director general Rezaul Haque, Sylhet deputy commissioner Sher Mahbub Murad, and regional livestock officials were present, among others.
