Former food minister Qamrul Islam was placed on a four-day remand in two cases filed with Kamrangirchar Police Station.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Belal Hossain passed the order when he was produced before the court on Wednesday.
Two investigating officers of the case Zahid Hasan and Palash Chandra Das produced him before the court with 10-day remand prayer in each case.
The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Qamrul Islam from Uttara area in the capital on November 18.
