A teenager was stabbed to death and two of his friends were injured in a clash allegedly over previous enmity during New Year celebrations at Fatulla in Narayanganj early Wednesday.
The deceased, Md Hridoy, 19, was a labourer from Boubazar area of Fatulla in Narayanganj.
Fatulla model police station officer-in-charge Md Shariful Islam said that two groups got into fight during the celebrations.
At one point, other group stabbed Hridoy and his friends, leaving them seriously injured, he said.
鈥楾hey were immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared Hridoy dead,鈥� the OC added, mentioning that two other injured were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Hridoy鈥檚 friend Sabbir said that the incident occurred at about 2:00am at Pagla Boubazar area when a group of seven to eight people suddenly crashed to their celebration and started beating them.
鈥楢fter stabing Hridoy and two others with sharp weapons, the group fled the scene,鈥� he said.
