Leaders of Ganosamhati Andolan on Saturday at a dialogue on current political issues in Dhaka called on all to work for implementing the spirit of the July movement for establishing a democratic Bangladesh.
Dhaka city units of the party organised the dialogue at the National Press Club auditorium where Dhaka city north convener Monirul Huda Baban chaired.
Chief coordinator of the party, Zonayed Saki, called on all to remain alert for implementation of the spirit of the July movement.
Formation of a democratic country might fail if the spirit of the movement could not be established, Saki commented.
He called on all the political parties favouring the spirit of the July movement to remain united for implementation of the sprit.
鈥榃e want a new political settlement for establishing a democratic country after the fall of the fascist Sheikh Hasina government on August 5,鈥� Saki said.
The executive coordinator of the party, Abul Hassan Rubel, said that the next general election should be held as early as possible for democratic transition of the country.
In the name of reforms, the general election could not be delayed more, Rubel added.
Lawyers Jyotirmoy Barua, Syed Mahbub Matin, central leaders of the party, Monir Udddin Pappu and Bachuchu Bhuiyan, convener of Dhaka city south Alif Dewan聽 and others attended the programme.
