
An attempt to murder case has been filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 89 others for torturing and making Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami activist Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan crippled for life in police custody in 2013.
Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan of Lakshmipur, filed the case on Sunday at the court of Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Masuma Rahman.
The court after recording the statement of the complainant, asked Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station to file the matter as a first information report (FIR), court clerk Shib Shankar confirmed the matter on Monday.
The other prominent accused in the case are Sheikh Fazle Karim Selim, Asaduzzaman Khan, Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Obaidul Quader, Hasanul Haque Inu, Hasan Mahmud, Amir Hossain Amu, Mohammad Ali Arafat, barrister Tureen Afroz, journalists Naimul Islam Khan, Shakil Ahmed, Farzana Rupa, Mozammel Babu, Munni Saha, Shyamal Dutta and Subhash Singha Roy.
