The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University held a training programme titled Academic Excellence Enhancement through Effective Teaching and Evaluation at the BSMRAU’S IQAC seminar room in Gazipur on Wednesday.

Vice-chancellor of the BSMRAU, Professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman, attended as chief guest, while pro-VC Professor M Moynul Haque and treasurer Professor Md Safiul Islam Afrad were present as special guests at the event, said a press release on Thursday.


Professor Nasrin Akhter Ivy, director of IQAC, welcomed the attendees and chaired the event, which was attended by lecturers and assistant professors of the BSMRAU.

Emphasising that improving students’ academic performance and success require first enhancing the teachers’ skills, the VC stated that the training would provide a clear understanding of how to implement high-quality teaching, foster creativity and modernised education.

He also underscored the importance of mutual interaction and cooperation between teachers and students to secure a distinguished position for BSMRAU in both national and international rankings.  

Safiul Islam Afrad addressed topics related to educational policies, research and classroom interactions, while planning and development director Professor Md Golam Rasul provided insights into the grading principles and evaluation methods.

The training session was conducted by IQAC additional director Professor Mohammad Sharif Raihan.
