Sabbir Rahman鈥檚 33-ball 82 went in vain as Dhaka Capitals suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in the ongoing BPL, this time to Chittagong Kings, who chased down 177 runs in 19.3 overs with seven wickets in hand at the Sylhet International Stadium on Thursday.聽
Dhaka, after being put into bat first, posted their highest total of the season thanks to twin fifties from Tanzid Hasan and Sabbir.聽
Tanzid, though, needed 43 balls to reach his fifty and made 54 off 48 balls. But Sabbir, playing only his second match of the season, was explosive.聽
The right-hander hit three fours and nine sixes鈥攋oint highest in his innings. Dhaka were 74-3 after the 13th over and then put on 103 from the last 42 deliveries.聽
Khaled Ahmed took 3-21 for Chittagong.聽
Usman Khan and Parvez Hossain Emon鈥檚 55-run opening partnership from six overs laid the perfect foundation for Chittagong in the run chase.聽
Usman then added 51 off 31 with Graham Clarke before he was dismissed for 55 off 33.聽
Clarke made 39 off 32, but it was captain Mohammad Mithun (33* off 22) and Shamim Hossain who finished it off for Chittagong. Shamim remained unbeaten on 30 off 14 balls.
