A man was killed and three others were injured in a clash allegedly between Swadesh Properties Ltd and Ashiyan City Development Ltd over a land dispute in Dhaka鈥檚 Khilkhet area on Monday.
The deceased is Kawsar Dewan, 40, a resident of North Barua area of Khilkhet in Dhaka.
According to police, Swadesh group members claimed the deceased Kawsar as an employee of Swadesh Properties Ltd.
Khilkhet police station officer-in-charge Muhammad Azharul Islam said that the incident occurred in the Barua area at about 2:00pm when people of the two land developers clashed over a long standing land dispute in the area.
He said that the injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Evercare Hospital in the city.
鈥楴o one has been detained as of 7:00pm Monday. Filing a case regarding the incident is under process,鈥� added the police official.
Additional deputy commissioner for Gulshan zone Md Al Amin Hossain said that additional police were deployed at the scene to avoid further trouble.
