Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday said that the youths were very much connected with the modern technologies as their intellectual power was very sharp.

‘If we can utilise the youth in the right way, the image of the country will change. Only the young generation can eliminate all the discriminations and build a society free of inequity. They can bring revolutionary changes at all the levels of the country. For all these, they should give more importance to education,’ he said.

The BNP leader said these while talking to reporters after attending a grand reunion of the former students of Dhaka College at Dhalis Amber Resort at Sirajdikhan in Munshiganj.

Presided over by grand reunion organising committee convener and Swechchhasebak Dal general secretary Mir Sharafat Ali Sopu, the function was also addressed by home adviser lieutenant general (retired) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Bangladesh Bank governor Ahsan H Monsur and veteran journalist Shafique Rehman, among others.

Expressing joy after meeting his old friends from the college, the BNP secretary general said that he felt proud of being a former student of Dhaka College.

‘I first experienced student politics in Dhaka College and my days there were very joyful,’ he added.
