The Rapid Action Battalion has arrested an assistant sub-inspector of Chattogram Metropolitan Police with crystal meth in Chattogram Friday night.
The ASI, Alamgir Hossain, and one of his associates, Mehedi Hasan, were arrested with 160 grams of crystal meth Friday night at Mehedibagh under Chawkbazar Police Station in the port city, the RAB said.
ASI Alamgir was serving for the public relations wing of the CMP.
RAB-7 assistant director (media) ARM Mozzafar Hossain said that they handed the duo over to Chawkbazar Police Station and filed a case with the police station under the Narcotics Control Act.
CMP deputy commissioner (crime) Raish Uddin said that they suspended Alamgir and would file a departmental case against the arrested officer.
