
Four physicians of Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s medical team along with their driver were injured in a road accident, as a Mercedes Benz car carrying them to London from Cambridge was hit by another car being towed by a tow truck on Monday afternoon.
The car got completely destroyed in the accident.
The injured doctors are — Professor Shahabub Uddin Talukder (cardiologist), Professor FM Siddique (internal medicine), Professor Nooruddin Ahmed (hepatologist) and Jafar Iqbal (intensivist), sources in the BNP’s London unit confirmed Wednesday.Â
Seventy-nine-year old three-time former prime minister Khaleda, who left Dhaka on January 7 aboard a special air ambulance, reached London on the following day to receive advanced treatment at The London Clinic. She is accompanied by a six-member medical board from Dhaka.
