Pirojpur University of Science and Technology organised the first Pitha Festival on the campus in Pirojpur on Wednesday.
Vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Md Shahidul Islam, inaugurated the festival, said a press release.
Students participated in the festival with different types of pithas made by themselves.
The VC said, 鈥楶itha festival is an integral part of Bengali history, tradition and culture.
Mentioning that pitha of different flavours is made in different regions based on the history and tradition of the country and the nature of winter, he added, 鈥楾he participation of our students in this festival with different types and flavors of Pitha is proof of that.鈥�
Shahidul Islam also assured that the university would provide all-round support for such events and various competitions in future.
Students, teachers, officers and employees of the university participated in this day-long event with enthusiasm.
