A group of students of Islamic University in Kushtia allegedly vandalised a bus of SB Paribahan early Thursday.
The incident took place on Kushtia-Khulna Highway in front of the university鈥檚 main entrance at around 12:30am.
Campus sources said that 13 students of the IU geography and environmental science department got on the bus after talking to the bus counter on Wednesday.
Another 15 students of the biotechnology and genetic engineering department also got on the bus without talking to the bus counter.
The bus supervisor later asked the 15 students of the biotechnology and genetic engineering department to get off the bus.
An altercation between the supervisor and the students took place over the issue.
At one point, the students halted the bus in front of the university鈥檚 main entrance and vandalised its glasses.
IU Anti-Discrimination Student Movement coordinators rushed to the spot and prohibited the students from vandalising the glasses.
On information, a team of the IU proctorial body went to the spot, said proctor professor Shahinuzzaman.
They are looking into the matter, he said, adding that action will be taken after investigating the incident.
