Sarjis Alam, a key coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and the chief organiser of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, on Thursday filed a case against the administrators of two Facebook pages for spreading propaganda and cyber bullying.
Confirming the matter, Shahbagh police inspector (investigation) Asaduzzaman said that Sarjis filed the case on Thursday evening alleging that he was being cyber-bullied by derogatory comments.
鈥楾he allegations are being investigated by the cybercrime unit. He has provided links of Facebook pages. Verification of the allegations is underway,鈥� he said.
In his statement, Sarjis Alam mentioned that two pages named 鈥楥riminals DU鈥� and 鈥楧epartment of BaKSALl, University of Dhaka鈥� were spreading defamatory information against him.
Sarjis in a Facebook post on Thursday night said that he had filed a case against those who defamed him with false information.
鈥業 hope the culprits will be brought to justice accordingly,鈥� he added.
