At least six people were killed and another one injured in road accidents in Magura, Sylhet, Patuakhali and Dinajpur distrcits on Thursday.
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a motorcycle rider was killed and another injured as a truck hit their bike at Kullia Bazar under the sadar upazila of Magura.
The deceased is Jeet Ghosh, 19, a resident of Kullia village in Kuchiamora union of the upazila.
Magura Sadar police station officer-in-charge Md Ayub Ali said that the accident took place at around 1:40pm and the injured Barshan Roy, 22, was shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
In another incident, the BSS reported that two workers were killed in a road accident on the Ambarkhana-Airport road in Sylhet city.
The deceased is Layes Mia, 35, a resident of Duhaliya village under Dowarabazar upazila in Sunamganj district and Md Jahangir, 20, of Biswanathpur upazila in Sylhet.
Airport police station OC Sayed Anisur Rahman said that the accident took place in Chawkidekhi area at around 1:30am when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit the workers.
Layes and Jahangir were working as labourers unloading products from a truck of a shop and preparing to return home.聽
The BSS reported that two people were killed in separate accidents at Bauphal upazila in Patuakhali.
A motorcycle rider was killed in a road accident on the Bauphal-Barishal highway in the Rajanagar area of the upazila early this morning, said Bauphal police station OC Md Kamal Hossain.
The deceased is Tariqul Sharif, 35, a resident of Ward 8 of Kanakdia union under the upazila.
A fisherman, on the other hand, was killed when his fishing trawler sank after being hit by a launch at Mathbaria Point in Dhulia union section of the Tentulia River, said Kalaiya naval police station officer-in-charge Tariqul Islam.
The deceased is Sentu Pyada, 50, of Mominpur village under Keshabpur union of the upazila.
The BSS, meanwhile, reported that a motorcyclist was killed as a bus hit his bike in the 13 Mile Gareya Bazar area under Kaharol upazila in Dinajpur.聽
The deceased is Delwar Hossain, 35, of Kamalpur village in Birganj upazila of the district.
The accident took place on the Dinajpur-Panchagarh highway at around 3:30pm when a BRTC bus hit the motorcycle, said Kaharol police station OC Md Ruhul Amin.
