A six-day training on climate risk insurance concluded at Dhaka University on Sunday.

Jointly organised by the Centre for Policy Research on Business and Development, University of Dhaka, the Korea International Cooperation Agency, World Food Programme, and Oxfam, the training was participated by 42 professionals, policymakers, and development practitioners.


The training aims at designing insurance that will protect farmers against frequent natural disaster to ensure food security.

A primary goal of these initiatives is to equip stakeholders with the necessary skills to implement efficient climate risk management strategies and protect livelihoods from climate-related threats.

The concluding session was attended by the DU pro-vice-chancellor Sayema Haque Bidisha, Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority member Md Fazlul Haque, faculty of business studies dean Mahmood Osman Imam, and the CPRBD director Abu Hena Reza Hasan.
