Netrakona Journalists’ Forum, Dhaka, a forum of journalists working in various media outlets based in Dhaka, held a general meeting and announced its new committee at the Royal Aroma Restaurant at Segunbagicha in Dhaka on Friday.

Presided over by the outgoing president of the forum, Faruk Ahmed Talukder, the new committee has been formed for two years with Dainik Inqilab’s special correspondent Rafiq Muhammad as president and Bangladesh Post’s chief reporter Shawkat Ali Khan Litho as general secretary, said a press release.


The other office-bearers of the committee are senior vice-president Dilip Sarkar (Asian Age), vice-president Biswajit Dutta (Amader Orthoneeti), joint general secretary Imran Hasan Majumder (Manabkantha), Mozammel Haque Tuhin (Ajkaler Khabar), organising secretary Bahram Khan (Daily Star), treasurer Muhammad Mofazzal (Financial Express), office secretary Moktadir Hossain Prantik (VOD Bangla), publicity and publication secretary Md Akbar Ali (Amader Somoy), sports secretary Anwar Hossain (Abas), women’s affairs secretary Banasree Dolly (Ekushey TV), information and technology secretary Asif Ur Rahman (Nagorik TV), culture secretary poet Mamun Khan (Banglavision), training and public welfare secretary Rafiqul Islam Kochi (Ajkaler Sangbad) and education affairs secretary Zahidul Islam (Financial Express).

The executive members of the committee are senior journalist Faruk Ahmed Talukder (Ajkaler Khabor), Masud Karim (Jugantar), Abdus Selim (Dinkal), Golam Moin Uddin (BSS) and Rajan Bhattacharya (Bangladesh Pratidin).

At the beginning of the programme, a minute’s of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs in the Liberation War, July-August mass uprising, poet Helal Hafiz and economist Anisur Rahman, added the press release.
