
Chattogram Metropolitan Police arrested 46 leaders and activists of Awami League, Chattra League, and Juba League for attacking protesters during the student-led mass uprising in July and August.
A team of CMP conducted drives in different areas of the port city in the last 24 hours, ending at 2:00pm Tuesday, and arrested them.
The detained leaders and activists of the ousted Awami League and its different front organisations have been implicated in several cases under the anti-terrorism act for attacks and other criminal activities during the uprising.
Additional deputy commissioner (media and PR) of CMP Mahmuda Begum said that most of the arrested were accused in several cases filed in connection with the attack and violent activities during the uprising.
