
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University has recently held a seminar titled Continuing Medical Education to enhance research and expertise at the BSMMU’s Professor Kamrul Islam Seminar Hall in Dhaka.Â
Dr Mohammad Anwarul Haque Mian, clinical assistant professor at the Medical College of Georgia in the United States, delivered keynote address at the seminar, said a press release on Wednesday.
He shed light on the importance of clinical trials, its various stages, scientific methods and the need to conduct research in accordance with international standards.
He also discussed the role of clinical trials in proving the efficacy of new drugs and therapies.
The event was presided over by Professor Dr MA Shakur, chairman, department of physical medicine and rehabilitation, BSMMU.
He said, ‘Clinical trials are essential for the advancement of medical research in Bangladesh. Our doctors need to participate in international standard research so that our healthcare standards can be further improved.’
Professor Dr Taslim Uddin, executive president of Bangladesh Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, was present as chief guest while Professor Dr Moniruzzaman Khan, BSMMU former pro-vice-chancellor, attended as special guest at the seminar.
