The BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology held the 2nd convocation of the university at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Dhaka on Saturday.聽

Industries, housing and public works adviser Adilur Rahman Khan conferred the degrees upon the students at the ceremony, said a press release.


Kihak Sung, chairman of Youngone Corporation, delivered the convocation speech while Faruque Hassan, chairman of the BUFT board of trustees, and Professor Ayub Nabi Khan, BUFT acting vice-chancellor, spoke on the occasion.

Among others, Md Moshiul Azam and Mohammed Nasir, both members of the BUFT BoT, were present as special guests at the convocation, which was conducted by Mohammad Imtiaj, director of the department of public relations.

At the convocation, 2,731 students who graduated from various programmes of the university were conferred degrees.

Members of academic council and syndicate, VCs of different universities, government and corporate high officials, teachers and officials of BUFT and guardians were also present at the ceremony.

A cultural programme and fashion show were held, featuring performances by BUFT students along with Tahsan and the band.
