
The two-day AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation-Bangladesh Mathematical Society 3rd National Mathematics Conference 2024 concluded at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in Dhaka on Friday.
The department of mathematics of BUET organised the conference, said a press release on Saturday.
Pro-vice-chancellor of BUET, Professor Abdul Hasib Chowdhury attended as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, which was presided over by head of the BUET mathematics department, Professor Nazma Parveen.
Dean of the faculty of science of BUET, Professor Al-Naqib Chowdhury; Professor Md Shahidul Islam, president, Bangladesh Mathematics Association and VC Pirojpur University of Science and Technology; and M Nurul Alam, trustee, AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation were present as special guests at the ceremony.
Among others, the conference secretary, Professor Mohammad Farhad Uddin, was also present at the ceremony while the keynote address was presented by Professor Md Abdul Hakim Khan.
One hundred and eighty four papers were presented at the conference. In the inaugural ceremony, 2 master of science and 2 MPhil students of the mathematics department were awarded gold medals under the patronage of the AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation.
University Grants Commission of Bangladesh member Professor Md Saidur Rahman attended the closing ceremony as chief guest.
