A speeding tractor crashed into a motorbike in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district, leaving two youths dead on Saturday night, said police on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Nahid Hossain, 19, and Sweet, 25, both hailing from Puratan Bastabpur area of the upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Police Station Humayun Kabir said that Nahid and Sweet were returning to Puratan Bastabpur from Ragunathpur by the bike after finishing some personal work on Saturday night.
At about 11:30pm, the speeding tractor coming from the opposite direction rammed into the bike carrying the duo in front of a madrassah in Bastabpur area, leaving them dead on the spot, said the OC.
The bodies were taken to the police station and would be handed over to the families upon completion of legal procedures, added the police official.
