A tense situation unfolded at the Ekushey Boi Mela Monday evening when a group of people confronted the Sabyasachi Prokashoni stall over the sale of exiled Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen’s book ‘Chumbon’.
Eyewitnesses reported that a crowd gathered at the stall after noticing the book on display.
Amid the commotion, writer Shatabdi Bhav, who was present at the stall, became the centre of a heated exchange. As tensions escalated, some individuals in the crowd demanded an apology from Bhav.
Facing mounting pressure, the writer eventually folded his hands in a gesture of apology. Police later intervened and escorted him away from the scene.
