The JAAGO Women Scholarship Programme hosted an event titled Bridging Futures: JAAGO Women Scholars Connect at the Crowne Plaza Hotel of Gulshan in Dhaka on Monday.
A transformative initiative by the U-GO, a global non-profit, hosted the event in collaboration with the JAAGO Foundation, said a press release on Tuesday.
The event created a platform where donors and scholars came together to forge connections, exchange personal stories, and celebrate the transformative power of education in shaping the future of young women across the country.
The event also emphasised the importance of mentorship, career guidance, and leadership development, fostering a stronger network between donors and scholars.
‘Education transforms lives, and we are with you every step of the way. Together, we will create a better future for all. Keep learning, keep striving, and never stop believing in yourself,’ said John Wood, founder and chief executive officer of U-GO.
‘This programme is a testament to how collective action can transform the lives of young women who would otherwise face immense challenges in their pursuit of higher education,’ said Korvi Rakshand, executive director of JAAGO Foundation.
Since its inception in 2022, the JAAGO Women Scholarship Programme has been dedicated to uplifting meritorious yet underprivileged female students enrolled in public universities nationwide, mentioned the press release.
