The batters failed to turn up as Bangladesh were all out for 202 runs in 38.2 overs in their only warm-up game ahead of the Champions Trophy against the Pakistan Shaheens at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Monday.
In reply, Pakistan Shaheens were 87-3 in 20 overs while filing this report.
Opting to bat first, Bangladesh lost Tanzid Hasan on the third ball of the innings and then kept losing wickets regularly.
After opener Soumya Sarkar made 35 off 38, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who came at four, top-scored 44 off 53 balls including three boundaries.
But other than that, the middle order failed as Bangladesh lost four wickets for just 18 runs in that phase.
Bangladesh got past 200 thanks to contributions from the tailenders Tanzim Hasan (30 off 27) and Nasum Ahmed (15 off 16) but were unable to play out the allotted 50 overs.
They went with seven batters that did not include Mahmudullah. Bangladesh will face India in their opening Group A fixture on February 20 at the same venue.聽
Bangladesh will then take on New Zealand and hosts Pakistan on February 24 and 27, respectively. Both matches will be held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.聽
