
A candidate and her sister were detained for their alleged forgery in the Jahangirnagar University undergraduate admission test for 2024-2025 session on Monday. Ìý
The incident occurred during the second shift of the test under the faculty of social sciences.
The detained, Parmita Dutta Bhumi, 17, and her sister Nibedita Dutta, 21, are residents of Kishoreganj Sadar.
According to the university’s proctorial team, Parmita was caught using a mobile phone to fill out her optical mark recognition answer sheet while taking the test in the Room 19 of the business studies faculty building.
The invigilator reported the matter to the disciplinary committee.
JU proctor Professor AKM Rashidul Alam said that that Parmita sent the questions to her sister via WhatsApp and she sent back the answers.
‘Nibedita was also detained,’ he added.
The detainees were handed over to Ashulia police station, and the JU administration was all set to file a case against them.
