Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan emerged champions in the boys’ section while Rangamati District Team triumphed in the girls’ section in the national phase finals of the Youth Kabaddi competition at the Paltan ground in the city on Tuesday.

BKSP beat Bogura District Team by 42-20 points in the boys’ final, while Rangamati earned a 23-19 points victory over Joypurhat District Team in the girls’ section final.


BKSP reached the final after a 49-21 points win over Sylhet in the semi-final, while Bogura beat Lalmonirhat by 39-23 points in the other semi-final.

The results of both semi-finals of the girls’ section were decided in tie-breaker as Rangamati defeated Barisal by 27-26 points after the stipulated time ended on 21-21 points.

In the first semi-final, Joypurhat beat Narail by 39-36 points after the regular time ended in 32-32 points.

Tajul Islam of BKSP was adjudged player of the competition in the boys section, while his team-mate Mohammad Shahid won the best raider award.

Rita Chakma of Rangamati won the player of the competition in the girls section, while Nasrin Aktar of Joypurhat was adjudged the best raider.
