A daylong ‘Spring Festival and Pitha Utsab-2025’ was celebrated at Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology campus on Wednesday, said a press release.

Vice-chancellor of the university Brigadier General Md Mizanuzzaman attened the event as chief guest and inaugurated the programme.


Besides, BAUET treasurer, Colonel, retd, Md Shawkat Hossain; BAUET registrar Lt Colonel, retd, K F A Sohel; deputy registrar, deans of various faculties, heads of departments and other officials attended the event.

After the inauguration, the chief guest and invited guests visited various stalls and interacted with the students.

The chief guest said, ‘The Spring festival and pitha utsab have brought new enthusiasm among the students. Through this event, they have gained preliminary ideas about entrepreneurship and service-oriented businesses along with their studies. Additionally, the festive environment provided entertainment opportunities for students, teachers, and officials alike.’

A total of 22 stalls were set up by eight departments, Bonolota Hall, Baral Hall, BAUET Café, and six rental halls.

These stalls showcased a variety of unique sweets and savory pithas, jewelry items, flowers and garlands, earthenware, poetry and storybooks, ICT items, and other creative activities, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Based on the diversity of food products, quality, stall decoration, presentation techniques, and hospitality, three stalls were selected as the best.

The stall from Department of Law and Justice secured first place, the stall from Rental Hall took second place and the stall from the Department of Business Administration came in third.

The event was hosted by associate professor Md Hamidur Rahman from the English department and additional director of IQAC along with lecturer Arifa Sultana from Sociology department.
