Bangladesh national women鈥檚 football team head coach Peter Butler on Thursday announced a 23-member squad, excluding the 18 rebellious players for the forthcoming two FIFA International Friendly matches against the United Arab Emirates.
Bangladesh will depart for the UAE on February 24 for the two friendlies scheduled on February 26 and March 2 in Sharjah.
The Englishmen opted for a fresh lineup, leaving out the rebel players as expected after their refusal to train under him since January 29.
Butler prepared a mixed fold comprising eight new faces alongside seven players from the previous squad that retained the SAFF Championship title in Nepal in October 2024.
聽鈥業t is a mix of 23 players, some experienced and others I just find in faith. It is a young group. I would prefer to give them time,鈥 Butler told the media.
鈥楤e patient with them. They may make mistakes, but they will learn as we will give them game time in our endeavour,鈥 the 58-year-old coach added.
鈥楾he most important thing for me is that these players approach their work with the right mindset, show respect, and deliver a performance that does justice to representing Bangladesh.鈥
