
The University of Rajshahi and the United Kingdom鈥檚 Durham University signed a memorandum of understanding at the Varendra Research Museum in Rajshahi on Saturday.
The MoU was signed by the RU vice-chancellor Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib and the vice-chancellor of Durham University Professor Karen O鈥橞rien, said a press release.
This agreement aims to strengthen academic and research collaborations between the two institutions.
Under this MoU, both universities will facilitate different programmes, including faculty and student exchange, joint research projects and publications, academic workshops, conferences and seminars.
The MoU will remain in effect for three years, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement.
The signing ceremony was attended by faculty members, experts from home and abroad, researchers, students, and media representatives from both universities.
This agreement marks the beginning of a long-term partnership for academic and research development as well as the development of the museums of the Rajshahi region, including Varendra Research Museum for preserving and protecting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Rajshahi division, added the press release.
