
Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh鈥檚 party chief Dr Shafiqur Rahman at a meeting in Lakshmipur on Saturday said that none could be survived by adopting corruption and misrule.
鈥極nly the rule of Qur鈥檃n can bring peace in the society and emancipate people from all problems,鈥 he said at the meeting organised by Laxmipur district unit of the party at the Adarsha Samad Government High School in the district.
鈥業n the past, people were exploited in the name of establishing 鈥淪onar Bangla鈥. We would not pursue such politics for which we should flee the country like fascists,鈥 he said.
Shafiqur Rahman said that the people belong to any Islamic party could never be involved with any corrupt practices like extortion, encroachment and oppression.
He also demanded the release of the party leader ATM Azharul Islam by February 25, saying, 鈥極therwise, the interim government should take preparation to take 鈥30 million鈥 Jamaat leaders and workers and keep them behind bar.鈥
Shafiqur mentioned that many things had changed in the country in the past 54 years. 鈥楾ime and again people have seen the huge bloodshed and rule of many people.鈥
鈥榊ou have heard about many ideologies, but so far you did not have the opportunity to see the rule of Islamic ideology of majority people,鈥 he mentioned, adding, 鈥楢ll experiments are over and Bangladesh will be built based on Qur鈥檃n,鈥 he added.
Referring to the sacrifices of many youths and students in the July-August uprising, Shafiqur said that the country had become 鈥渋ndependent鈥 for the second time in exchange of their blood.
鈥榃e want to see Bangladesh as a humanitarian state. We want the people of this country to achieve their emancipation through the implementation of the law of Allah,鈥 he said. 聽
District Jamaat amir Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan presided over the meeting while secretary Faruk Hossain Nurnabi and assistant secretary Advocate Mohsin Kabir Murad, party鈥檚 assistant secretary General ATM Masum, central leader Mubarak Hossain, Kazi Din Mohammad, Shahjahan Chowdhury, Rezaul Karim and Advocate Atiqur Rahman addressed the meeting, among others.
