The six-day-long National Tennis Competition with a prize money of Tk 3.35 lakh began at the Ramna Tennis Complex in the city on Sunday.
A total of 165 competitors from 21 organisations, including club, school, and district teams, are taking part in the competition, organised by the Bangladesh Tennis Federation.
The participants split into two groups鈥攎en and women鈥攁re competing in four separate events鈥攎en鈥檚 and women鈥檚 singles and men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 doubles.
The BTF organisers disclosed the details of the tournament at a press conference on Sunday.听
BTF vice-president and member-in-charge of the tournament sub-committee Ashrafuzzaman Khan Puton, general secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed, and treasurer MA Jinnah were present on the occasion.
