Gono Bishwabidyalay held the 4th convocation of the university in Savar on Monday.

Social welfare and women and children affairs adviser Sharmin S Murshid presided over event.


In his speech, she said that after the July Revolution, the nation was dreaming of building a society, free from exploitation and discrimination. It was a responsibility that students had to take on.

Convocation speaker was Professor Abul Kashem Chowdhury, member of the board of trustees of the Gonoshasthaya Kendra and Gono Bishwabidyalay and former vice-chancellor of the university, while Professor Tanzimuddin Khan, member of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, was present as special guest.

Gono Bishwabidyalay VC Professor Md Abul Hossain, chairman of the university鈥檚 BoT Waliul Islam, the university treasurer Professor Md Sirajul Islam, Shirin Parveen Haque, member of the BoT, also spoke.

Wife of Zafrullah Chowdhury, along with other members of the BoT, syndicate and academic council, deans and teachers of various faculties were present. The event was conducted by the university鈥檚 registrar Md Ohiduzzaman.
