The computer science and engineering department of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology organised a workshop titled Roadmap to Successful Products: Software Engineering Best Practices at the Academic Council Room of CUET in Chattogram on Monday.

The workshop was held with the aim of connecting theoretical knowledge of software development with practical experience, said a press release.


The resource persons of the workshop were Ibn Mohammad Abu Saleh Khasru, chief technical officer of Kalpalok Limited; Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, lead of People and Culture; Mirza Tahmid Tajik, principal software engineer; Abdullah Al Rumi, senior SQA engineer and Mohammad Ariful Haque Khan, SQA engineer.

Ibn Mohammad Abu Saleh Khasru said that special importance should be given to data security at every stage of software development. ‘Data is considered a valuable asset for any organisation, business and individual. Maximum data security should be ensured in software development so that the privacy or confidentiality of data can be preserved and protected from cyber threats.’

Engineers from Kalpalok Limited, a software development company in Dhaka, provided training on the use of modern methods and technology for successful software product development in the workshop.

CUET’s CSE department’s 135 students of the third year participated in the workshop.

Presided over by head of the department of CSE, Professor AHM Ashfaq Habib, main coordinators of the workshop, CSE department teachers Mir Mu Saqi Kawsar and Mohammad Al-Mamun Prabhat were present at the certificate distribution ceremony.

Saugata Pal, Miftiaz Inti Sami, Fahim Ferdous, Adil Sikder, Sheikh Safayatul Haque, Khandaker Imrul Kayes, Kaushik Das, Madiha Ahmed Chowdhury, Mehreen Rahman, Tabassum Basher Rashfi, among others, CSE department students, contributed to the execution of the workshop.
