Local administration has imposed section 144 in Rashik Roy Jiu temple in Thakurgaon Sadar from Thursday morning.
Md Khairul Islam, Sadar upazila nirbahi officer, issued the emergency section on Wednesday, which will remain in force from 6:00pm Thursday till 12:00am Friday.
According to the sources, Phulbabu, a Hindu community man, was killed in a clash between two groups of Hindu devotees over the ownership of land of the temple in Auliapur area on September 18, 2009.
Later, the local administration took the charge of the temple to bring the situation under control.
UNO Khairul said that a tense situation had escalated among the two groups of Hindu devotees over the issue on the occasion of Shib Puja.
To avoid possible clashes and trouble, the local administration imposed Section 144 to maintain law and order situation.
