The second meeting of the Programme Management and Coordination Committee on conducting research on social and behaviour change and building the capacity of university teachers was held at the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh in Dhaka on Thursday.

In the meeting, it was decided to organise two workshops on creating courses and curricula in universities on SBC next month. Teachers and researchers from various public and private universities will participate in it, said a press release on Friday.


UGC member Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossain presided over the meeting, which was attended by UGC鈥檚 International Collaboration Department鈥檚 director (current responsibility), Jasmine Parveen, Dhaka University professor Nurul Islam, associate professor Syed Tanvir Rahman, University of Liberal Arts, Bangladesh professor Sarkar Barbak Karmal and UNICEF SBC programme manager Md Badrul Hasan, among others. Professor Anwar Hossain called for ensuring honesty and transparency in project evaluation on social and behavioural change.

The programme includes conducting research in behavioural science in the country鈥檚 universities, conducting fellowships on social and behavioural change, launching short-term courses, formulating policies and curricula, organising training, seminars and workshops, added the press release.
