The third unit of the Barapukuria coal-based thermal power station at Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur resumed its power generation on Friday after 12-day shut down.
Chief engineer of the power station of Parbatipur upazila Md Abu Bakar Siddique said that after starting the third unit, around 190 to 200 megawatt of electricity was generated in the district.
The generated electricity was being supplied to the national grid from 6:30pm Friday, he added.
The third unit of the Barapukuria thermal power station was shut down due to technical faults on February 16.
