
Eid handicrafts fair began at Autism Welfare Foundation鈥檚 permanent campus in Bosila, Keraniganj on Tuesday.
Around 150 autistic children and adolescents took part in the two-week long fair, said a press release.
The fair was inaugurated by its adviser and chairman of Runner Group of Companies Hafizur Rahman Khan. Rudaba Tazin, group director, attended as special guest.
The annual fair was organised by the specialised school Kanon of the foundation. The students participated in the event with their teachers and parents.
Founder chairperson and chief adviser Rownak Hafiz, chairperson Professor Sharmeen Yasmeen, vice chairperson and acting-principal Ar Anika Tabassum and treasurer Professor Sabrina Ishrat, among others, addressed in the inaugural session of the fair.
A number of craft works were exhibited, including paintings, handmade showpieces, ethnic clothing, Eid greetings card, home organisation articles, jewelleries and other decorative items made and tinted by the autistic children.
The foundation has been working with special children with autism spectrum disorder since 2004.
The fair will continue till March 18, except Fridays and Saturdays, between 10:0 am and 3:00pm.
