
A fire that broke out at a slum in Bhasantek area of Dhaka on Thursday morning was brought under control after half an hour of efforts.
Talha Bin Jasim, station officer (media cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, said that the fire erupted at BRB Slum at about 11:00am and was brought under control at about 11:35am.
He said that five firefighting units from several stations, including Mirpur, and Kumitola, rushed to the scene responding to a call at about 11:10am.
The origin of the fire and the extent of damages could not be known yet, he added.
