A construction worker died after falling from the under-construction metro rail station in the capital鈥檚 Kamalapur on Friday, the police said.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Nayem, 20, son of Nazimul Islam from Panial Pukur village in Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari.
Nayem鈥檚 uncle Raju Mia said the incident occurred around 5:30am when he accidentally fell from a height and sustained critical injuries due to negligence.
His coworkers immediately rescued him and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 11:45am while undergoing treatment.
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp, said that the body had been kept at the DMCH morgue for an autopsy.
