A Dhaka court on Saturday sent 14 people, including a leader of Student Against Discrimination, to jail over allegations of vandalising and looting a construction office for extortion Friday afternoon.
They are SAD Kalabagan Thana unit convener Salahuddin Salman, 24, Md Emon, 15, Real Khan, 21, Sazidul Islam Tahmid, 20, Shahadat Hossain, 25,聽 Md Utsya, 25, Md Abir, 19, Md Farhan, 25, Parvez Hawlader, 16, Hridoy Hossain Akash, 18, Naim Hawlader, 17, Arafat Ahmed, 14, Rubel, 16 and Rabbi,14.
Kalabagan police station officer-in-charge Md Muktaruzzaman said that they had produced 14 people to the court and the court sent all to jail.
鈥楾hey had looted Tk 3,00,000 and four laptops from the construction office at Rasel Square of Kalabagan,鈥� the OC said quoting the plaintiff.
A case was filed with the police station early Saturday against 14 named and five to seven unnamed people over the incident.
Joint forces arrested them at about 9:15pm Friday and handed over to the police station.
