Sheltech Cricket Academy clinched the title of the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Women鈥檚 Cricket League after beating Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Shamity by four wickets at the ULAB Ground on Sunday.聽
This was Sheltech鈥檚 seventh straight win, and they now have 14 points. However, Mohammedan Sporting Club, who have 12 points with one match remaining; can equal that if Sheltech lose their last match. But according to the bylaws of the league, in case of tied points, head-to-head will be counted.聽
The newcomers, Sheltech, beat the champions of the last season, Mohammedan, in the first match of the season and thus will lift the trophy.
Sheltech restricted Khelaghar to 118 in 37.5 overs as the spin duo Fahima Khatun and Jannatul Sumona took three wickets each.聽
In reply, Sarmin Sultana (41 off 46) and Ishma Tanjim (28) helped Sheltech to reach the target in 25.5 overs.聽
In the other match of the day, Mohammedan Sporting Club beat BKSP by 74 runs at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.聽
Mohammedan posted 219-6 in 50 overs thanks to Sharmin Supta (74), Ayesha Rahman (35), and Salma Khatun (34).聽
BKSP then got all out with 145 runs in 46.4 overs as Mohammedan pacer Fariha Trishna took three for 22. Captain Salma, Rumana Ahmed, and Ayesha each took two wickets.聽
