A 13-year-old boy was strangled to death in Bogura鈥檚 Gabtoli upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased, Md Sifat, was a seventh-grade student at Gabtoli Pilot High School and the son of Hafizur Rahman Mollah from Uttarpara village.
Ashiq Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Gabtoli model police station, said that locals found Sifat鈥檚 body near a pond adjacent to the Eidgah ground in Unchurki Uttarpara.
They immediately took him to Gabtoli upazila health complex, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Abul Bashar, the attending physician of the hospital, said that the boy had been strangled, with visible fingerprints found on his neck.
Police were investigating the incident, and the body was sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy, said the OC.
