
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation got a financial boost of Tk 25 lakh following the men’s and women’s national teams’ recent success as the ministry of youth and sports accorded a reception to the national women’s team at the National Sports Council conference room on Tuesday, where the announcement was made.
The men’s kabaddi team defeated Nepal 4-1 in a five-match series at home last month, while the women’s team won bronze medal in the seven-team Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship in Iran after beating Thailand by 42-27 points in Group A final on March 7.
Sports secretary Rezaul Maksud Jahedi attended the reception ceremony as the chief guest, while NSC secretary Aminul Islam and BKF general secretary SM Nawaz Shohag were also present on the occasion, among others.
Earlier on Monday, BKF president and IGP Baharul Alam announced Tk 5 lakh each for the men’s and women’s teams’ success in the reception programme organised by the BKF at the BKF premises.
