A Bengali settler was detained on Tuesday on the allegation of raping a 17-year-old mentally challenged Khaiyang community girl at Khamtang Para under Rawangchari upazila in Bandarban.
The accused is Md Jamal, a road construction worker of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board.聽
The incident took place at about 7:00pm on Monday and police came to know about the matter at about 11:00am on Tuesday, according to police.
Villagers said that the girl was dragged to the nearest jungle and was raped there.聽
鈥極n information, we have聽 detained the accused within one hour after,鈥� said Rawangchari police station officer-in-charge Mohamamd Monzur Hossain.
He told 抖阴精品 that the victim family was yet to file any case in this connection.
鈥業f they file a case, we will show him arrested,鈥� the OC said, adding that he would be sent to the court under Section 54, if any case was not lodged.聽
