Cultural activists on Tuesday demanded removal of homeadvisor and took steps for improvement of law and order of the country at a protest rally on the front of National Museum.

They also condemn the failure of different law enforcement agencies against mob violence and violence against women and children. 


The event titled Protibadi Somabesh O Ganer Michil organised by Ganatantrik Sanskritik Oikya comprised open painting, poetry recitation and song rally which was walked from Shahbag to Raju Bhashkorjo of Dhaka University. 

Cultural activists including Zakir Hossain, Susmita Ray Supti, Kamal Hossain Badol, Kamruzzaman, Harunur ur Rashi, Mafizur Rahman Laltu, Jamshed Anwar Tapan, among others spoke at the event which was moderated by Amirun Nuzhat Moneesha.

Zakir Hossain said that they want to build a democratic environment after the fall of fascist Hasina government, but the religious extremist attacks on shrines and temples while the interim government has failed to provide security.

‘The government also failed to stabilize the law and order of the country while attacks on women are rising and mob violence indicates that the home advisor failed in his duty,’ said Zakir.

Susmita Ray Supti said that women are not protected by the law while social culture is being morally policing against women and now women are being publicly attacked on the street.

Harunur ur Rashi said that various vested groups are working to make the state ineffective and the home advisor is not resigning despite his failure.

'No punshment against Bashundhara Group managing director Sayem Sobhan Anvir on Munia rape and murder even Tonu murder because of criminals were rich,' said Mafizur Rahman Laltu, adding that women were active in the recent anti-fascist movement but now women have been targeted for attack.

Jamshed Anwar Tapan condemned that police attacked in a protest against rape and violence against women on Tuesday.

‘Government should removal the home advisor for his failure in maintaining law and order and ensure public safety,’ said Tapan.

Besides, television drama directors organization Directors Guild organise a human chain against rape and demand improve security for women.
