Newly crowned champions Sheltech Cricket Academy finished their Dhaka Premier Division Women鈥檚 Cricket League campaign undefeated as they beat BKSP by eight wickets in their last match at the Bashundhara Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Sheltech, who were promoted to the Premier League this season, clinched the trophy after their seventh consecutive win. In that sense, this was the icing on the cake for the Nigar Sultana Joty-led team.

Off-spinner Sumona took 5-50 as Sheltech restricted BKSP to 177-7 in 50 overs.

After losing opener Ishma Tanjim in the eighth over, Sarmin Sultana (71 off 85) then added two fifty partnerships of 58 and 89 with Sumaiya Akter (33) and Joty (43 off 40), respectively, to record the win in 32.2 overs.

Mohammedan Sporting Club, on the other hand, confirmed the runners-up spot after beating arch-rivals Abahani Limited by 118 runs at the ULAB Ground.

Mohammedan posted 243-7 in 50 overs as Sharmin Supta and Sobhana Mostary both scored 85 runs. Sharmin played 122 balls in her innings while Sobhana needed only 92 balls.

Abahani lost the plot in the run chase when they became 15-4 in the ninth over and never recovered from that. They got all out for 125 in 39.2 overs despite opener Sumi Akter鈥檚 61.
