A Dhaka court on Wednesday convicted three men and sentenced them to life term in jail in a case filed over the rape of a 13-year-old girl in Kamrangirchar area of Dhaka.
Dhaka Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal judge Munshi Md Mashier Rahman handed down the punishment.
The lifers are Mohon, resident of Dhunat of Bogura, Sabbir, resident of Belkuchi of Sirajganj and Russel, resident of Shariatpur.
The court also fined them Tk one lakh each, in default, to suffer one year more in rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, five people took the girl to an under-construction building in Hasan Nagar of Kamrangirchar area on June 17, 2020 and violated the girl in turns.
A case was filed in this connection.
The police submitted chargesheet against five people and of them two juveniles went into hiding.
