
The Bangladesh Special Olympics team won gold in the floorball women鈥檚 traditional event of the World Winter Games 2025 after a 4-2 win over Ukraine in the final at the Inalpi Arena Court-2 in Turin, Italy, on Saturday.
Bangladesh earlier stormed to final of the event with a 13-1 goal win over beat Trinidad and Tobago team while Ukraine beat Bharat 3-1 in their respective playoffs on Friday.
Bangladesh confirmed their playoff after winning against Ukraine 4-1, Trinidad and Tobago 9-3 and Bharat 2-1 in the four-team Division A matches.
The other participating teams of this event are Mongolia, Morocco, Spain, the USA, and Uruguay, who were placed in Division B.
Bangladesh players are Onita Khatun, Fatema Akter, Sarna Akter, Fabiya Khatun, Tanzila Khatun, Tanmoon Islam, Mukta Akter, and Tamallin Tamallin.
From March 8 to 15, 2025, the Special Olympics World Winter Games, the world鈥檚 largest sports and humanitarian event, has been held in Turin.
Nearly 1,500 athletes from 98 countries from across the world competed in eight sports events in the games.
