
At least three people were killed and three others were injured in separate road accidents in Bogura and Cox鈥檚 Bazar on Monday.
United News of Bangladesh reports: two friends were killed and another injured when a truck hit a motorbike on Dhaka-Bogura highway at Sherpur in Bogura.
The deceased are identified as Shubho Islam, 20, son of Abdul Hye and Hridoy Hasan, 20, son of Solaiman of Biroil village.
The accident occurred at about 11:00am when a truck hit the motorbike carrying three friends while returning to home after collecting photographs for voter identity cards, leaving Shubho and Hridoy dead on the spot and Sagar injured, said Sherpur Highway Police in-charge Azizul Haque.
Later, Sagar was taken to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex.
Police could not arrest the truck driver as he managed to flee the scene.
In another accident in Cox鈥檚 Bazar, a man was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in the Panerchora area under Ramu upazila of the district.
The deceased was Md Rayhan, 24, son of late Abu Taher of Uttar Pukuria area of Ukhiya upazila of the district.
Quoting local people, police officers said that the accident occurred when a Ukhiya-bound passenger bus collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw in the area, leaving auto-rickshaw passenger Rayhan dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were sent to Cox鈥檚 Bazar Sadar Hospital.
Police seized the two vehicles from the spot.
